EU-only 180gm vinyl LP pressing including bonus track and digital download. Although Chet Baker and Bill Evans were both highly lyrical and introspective players who could have made a marvelous team, they only recorded together on a couple of occasions. The reasons behind their limited association are unclear. The third Baker-Evans session, featuring Herbie Mann and Pepper Adams, was part of a Baker project dedicated to the music of composer Frederick Loewe and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner. The album was titled Chet Baker Plays the Best of Lerner & Loewe, and included a July 22, 1959 date with Evans (their last preserved encounter) plus a session from the previous day on which Evans wasn't present (the pianist was Bob Corwin).
